On Friday night, Oct. 8 at the Music in the Park Festival, 11- year-old Logan Fingerhut received the surprise of his life. He was presented with a B.C. Rich Warlock guitar by Kids Rock the Nation founder Anthony Wild. The organization promotes self-esteem through musical performance by recognizing and rewarding potential musical talent in children.
The founder of Kids Rock the Nation, Anthony Wild, has an amazing cancer survival story of his own. He shared this story as the firefighters dressed in pink T-shirts raised the Pink Army Flag. He was diagnosed with cancer and did not have insurance for the treatments. A generous soul provided the funds for Wild to be treated and beat cancer. Once he was cleared from the disease, the gentleman who provided him with the means to survive and gave him his life back...was then himself diagnosed with end stage cancer. Wild asked what he could do to repay him for his life, the gentleman said start a rock and roll foundation for kids. Share your passion for life and music with children.
The recipient of the guitar Logan Fingerhut holds a dear place in his heart with this disease, as he was only 5 years old when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. He was witness to the phases of fighting cancer at such a young age, and with a very fortunate outcome as his mother is now 6 years cancer free. She feels blessed to share these priceless moments with her family and was his biggest fan cheering him on as his was presented this very special gift from Anthony.
