Through teamwork, determination and some real upper body strength, a group of Ormond Beach volunteers were able to hold up a wall of 1,700 pumpkins.
Every year, someone loses their balance while holding up fragile wall of pumpkins and the whole thing comes crashing down. A common occurrence at Grace Lutheran Church, Mark Crabb is determined this year to break the bad luck streak.
“It happened last year, and the year before that,” Mark Crabb said while keeping two rather large pumpkins held up against the mass.
“And the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that,” 10-year-old James Crowley jokingly chimed in.
Thankfully, there’s a crowd of over 30 volunteers from both the church and Team Red White and Blue willing and able to lend a hand in unloading the 1,700 pumpkins that were delivered on Saturday. The 13th-annual Pumpkin Patch is offering a variety of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes.
