A Flagler County jury has found Palm Coast resident Roodlyn Mompremier not guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an alleged machete attack on his girlfriend's brother in 2013.

The two-day trial began Oct. 20 and ended Oct. 21 after five hours of deliberation by a jury of four men and two women, State Attorney's Office Seventh Judicial Circuit spokesman Spencer Hathaway said.

Mompremier, 31, still faces a charge of conspiracy to commit second degree murder in connection with an alleged behind-bars plot to have the victim from the initial case killed, a first-degree felony.

That case is expected to go to trial the week of Nov. 16, Hathaway said.
