Born Yesterday will be presented as a staged reading Friday, Nov. 13, at the Lohman Auditorium at Marineland, for one night only. Lead actress Annie Gaybis will play Billie Dawn with co-stars Terence Van Auken as Paul Verrall and Robert O. Dimsey as Harry Brock. Also featuring Robert Wever as Brock’s lawyer, Jerry Curti as Senator Norval Hedges and Evelyn Lynam as the radio announcer.
The production is sponsored by the Palm Coast Arts Foundation, and directed by John Sbordone of the City Reparatory Theatre, to raise money for the Raise the Roof campaign. The PCAF has completed the final stages of the permitting process to build an outdoor stage in Palm Coast’s Town Center. President of PCAF Sam Perkovich hopes to have the stage up and running by January of 2016.
Events such as outdoor theater, art fairs, graduation ceremonies and festivals can potentially be held on the 90 by 50 foot stage at the cultural arts complex, located just east of Epic Theatre.
“We are confident that Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches will become a destination for the arts in the northeast and central regions of our state once the complex is completed,” -President of PCAF Sam Perkovich
“With the anticipated population growth in the upcoming years, Flagler County is prime for such a complex and will greatly benefit from the cultural life that will follow,” Executive Director Nancy Crouch, as taken from the PCAF, the Marquee, pamphlet.
The building of the cultural arts complex is stage one of four. PCAF foresees multiple phases to this ongoing project, ending with a multi-functional facility that can accommodate 2,500 guest throughout several theaters.
