Fundraiser Brings High-Flying Support to Flagler Schools

Aerospace flagship program has $5,000 more to work with.

The Women's Initiative of Flagler County, a group organized through the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties, presented hte Flagler County Education Foundation a $5,000 check to be used for the Aerospace Flagship Lab at Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The presentation was made at the group’s annual “Power of the Purse Dinner and Silent Auction,” held at the Hammock Dunes Club Monday night. Lynette Shott, Director of Student and Community Engagement and Deborah Williams, director of the Flagler County Education Foundation were on hand to receive the generous donation as was Phyllis Pearson, Assistant Principal at Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The Aerospace Flagship Program is one of three Flagship Programs at Flagler Palm Coast High School. Students learn about unmanned aerial vehicles through a partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
