Owners Derrick Coleman and Theresa Walloga recently opened Sevyn Bar & Restaurant on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 4701 E. Moody Blvd. in Bunnell. Based on its outer appearance, Sevyn serves as a perfect example that “it’s what’s on the inside that counts.”
Once you get past the brown wooden bench and the brick red tinned roof, you will make your way to the foyer and immediately be introduced with Bob Marley and B.B. King artwork. As you gradually walk into the restaurant, there lies a spacey dance floor, a decorative bar area, a live band and tables to enjoy the day or night.
“We don’t really have anything like this here in this capacity, especially live blues and jazz,” Coleman said. “I’ve been here for two years, and I wanted a place I could go to and enjoy some good music that’s more relaxing. It seems like a lot here is either too old or too young, so I wanted something in the middle, but this is for all people to come together.”
Coleman chose the name, saying the number signified completion, some consider it the lucky number and he thinks it’s one of the best numbers out there. He changed the spelling of the number because he wanted to “make it unique and stand out.”
Sevyn’s menu will include barbeque chicken and ribs, pizzas, various salads desserts and much more.
“It’s definitely going to be the place to be in Palm Coast and Bunnell,” Coleman added. “I’ve had so much help from the people in the community who came out in droves to help me get this place together. It was really a disaster when we came into the building, and a lot of people donated their money, their time and a lot of other things to make sure this happened. We’re really pleased in what we have here.”
