Imagine School at Town Center and K-Kids are having a food drive from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Beach Village Publix on State Road 100. Donations of non-perishable items are being accepted and customers are being asked to donate their free items from the buy one get one free sales.
K-Kids are a group of third to fifth grade students who want to make a difference. The organization is chartered by the Palm Coast Kiwanis Club. The food drive is a service learning project to teach the students the value of helping others and will benefit the less fortunate families at Imagine School at Town Center and local food banks. There will be a family fun day at Belle Terre Swim and Racquet Club, 73 Patricia Dr. from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20. Admission is free for the afternoon of live music, bake sale, duck dive and a demonstration by the Flagler Synchro Belles. For more information, visit the group’s website www.belleterre.net.
Palm Coast resident Benny (BJ) Cope will be kayaking or canoeing the Suwannee River, from Georgia to the Gulf of Mexico, and documenting the journey to raise awareness for Crohn’s and Colitis disease research from March 1-11, 2016.
