The following is a news release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office detectives are offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the armed robbery of the Staples on Old Kings Road Saturday, Sept. 12.

A surveillance image shows the suspect as a black male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a stocky build, wearing a gray Florida State Seminoles hoodie sweatshirt pulled tightly around his face and carrying a black backpack. It’s unclear what type of pants or shoes he wore. Deputies said he displayed a small semi-automatic handgun, and believe he may have hidden in the store's stock room until closing.

According to the investigation, the suspect approached a manager from behind in the cash room at the front of Staples after closing time and pointed the gun at him, then told the manager to empty the safe into the backpack, which he did.

The suspect then ordered the manager to lie on the floor with his hands on his head and count to 100. The suspect took the manager’s cell phone and left the room, leaving the phone on a desk outside the cash room.

Detectives have asked anyone with any information about this robbery or suspect to call the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division at 386-586-4801. The Sheriff’s Office is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477 (TIPS), and may also be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
