Sun, wind, sips and samples took over the Flagler Beach Pier on April 2 for the third annual Cheer at the Pier. The Flagler Beach Historical Museum hosted the event to fundraise for the museum. Hosting this event allows the museum to give back to the community. Flagler Beach restaurants participate by donating their time and samples of foods and wines. Teri Pruden, Flagler Beach Museum Director had many of her museum volunteers coordinate the day.
“What started as a frightening day with thunderstorms overhead, turned into a beautiful sunny day for our guests!” Pruden said via email. “We even welcomed the windy conditions which were challenging but made the day more comfortable.”
Pruden said the event raised “about the same” amount of money as last year’s event. “Considering the weather, we are thrilled with that!” she said.
