Foote was one of the few students who authored their own bills relevant to the state of Florida. Once in Tallahassee, they imitated real legislation by presenting, debating and passing bills written by youth from all over Florida.

The Ormond Beach student also met up with former principal and current Voluisa County school board candidate Carl Persis met up with Amber to go over the details of this trip.

"It was a pleasure meeting with Mr. Carl Persis and filling him in on my current activities and my future endeavors," she said. "He was a fantastic principal when I attended Ormond Beach Middle School, and he is without a doubt the most passionate and remarkable individual I know regarding his concern of education and the success of adolescents here in Volusia County."
