The hit musical, "Sweet Charity" by Neil Simon, Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields opens April 15 at the Daytona Playhouse.

Starring Chelsea Jo Conard as the lovable Miss Charity Hope Valentine and directed by Matthew MacDermid, the show features some of the most memorable Broadway tunes like "Big Spender" and "If They Could See me Now."

It's 1966 in the Big Apple, with Charity at the seedy Fandango Club, home to shady characters and cops on the take.  Charity struggles to find true love, and dancer friends Nicky (Nicole Pavol) and Helene (Bernadette Siudock) try to console her when Vittorio (Peter Gutierrez) treats her poorly.  Enter Oscar (Joey Maxwell) and things start looking up for our eternal optimist Charity.

The show is held from April 15 to May 1. Ticket are $21 for adults, $20 for seniors 55 and older, and $12 for 18 and under. Visit DaytonaPayhouse.org or call 255-2431.
