Toward the end of track season, every athlete approaches each of the last four weeks win two goal in mind—win and advance. For the Flagler Palm Coast boys, they’ve done both, with winning the District 4A-1 championship, which has become a norm, taking it the last three years.

“Not to downplay it, but that is the expectation at this point, on the boys side,” coach David Halliday said. “We have dominated the local scene since I arrived in 2004. But, it always feels good to win the district local bragging rights for the kids. It’s the first step in the state series on the way to the state meet.”
