Andrew Medearis, a science teacher at Buddy Taylor Middle School, has created an environmental project that is now a finalist in the Tom’s of Maine “Green Your School Fund” innovation challenge.

Medearis is looking to use the money for a student project that aims to restore local beach dunes damaged by human and environmental impact.

·        The $1M “Green Your School Fund” launched in April on DonorsChoose.org. The fund matches any donation made to an environmental classroom project submitted to the website.

·       10 projects from around the country were chosen for their creativity by a panel of judges that included musician Kevin Jonas and the 2016 National Teacher of the Year, Jahana Hayes.

·        The public can vote for the most creative project at www.greenschoolfund.com.

·        Vote now through Oct. 17, 2016.

·        Other teachers can still enter their environmental projects at DonorsChoose.org to receive the match offer from Tom’s of Maine!
