The Ormond Beach Lions Club recently donated a battery-operated megaphone to the Halifax Rowing Association’s, Adaptive Rowing Program, a program for persons with visual or physical limitations.
As most program participants are blind, the megaphone is used to give instructions to participants while rowing on the Halifax River, often from a distance. The megaphone gives Coach Bob Van Twyver more flexibility in administering the program, and helps assure safety for program participants.
Ann Marie Medlar, an Ormond Beach Lions Club member, is one of the Adaptive Rowing Program’s founders. For information about the Adaptive Rowing Program call 562-4081 or email [email protected].
