Seabreeze will honor its fallen soldier
Seabreeze High School will hold a dedication ceremony for alum Staff Sergeant Anthony Davis at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the school’s main courtyard. The ceremony is open to the public.
Davis, an Army ranger, was killed in action in 2009, at 29 years old, during his sixth combat deployment. He graduated from Seabreeze in 1999 and joined the military the following year. While a Sandcrab, Davis played football, basketball and ran track.
“I think it's amazing that a true home-grown hero who gave his life for his country will be honored in his home town and at his school,” said Candice Kealy, a former classmate who also served on the Daytona Beach Fire Explorers with Davis. “He was a great friend, athlete and true hero.”
