"This senior class has been awesome," coach Sara Novak said. "I have 13 girls who have been with me all 4 years leaving the program. I think this senior class, whether a girl was a point scorer or an alternate, just truly loved the sport and loved how it made them feel both mentally and physically. One of my main goals in weightlifting is to build self-confidence, so when they do graduate from Matanzas, they feel good about themselves and are ready for the dynamic world we live in."
Matanzas will host a Lift-a-Thon fundraiser on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Matanzas.
