A new school has opened in Ormond Beach for Realtors and those that want to become Realtors. The Colby School of Real Estate will offer both pre-licensing classes and post-licensing classes required by the state of Florida.
Licensed instructor and owner Cliff Colby is currently a broker-agent with Adams Cameron & Co. Realtors and also is involved with training at the agency.
“I wanted to create a first-class learning center in a convenient location to serve the local area Realtors,” he said. “The Colby School will be much more than a licensing school. “We’ll be offering classes and workshops on Realtor Math, Business Writing, Marketing Techniques, and I’m working on a guest lecture series kicking off with an eight-hour class on negotiations taught by an attorney from New York City.”
Colby started teaching at the Eagleson Institute and has taught bio-safety techniques all over the world. Locally, he volunteers with Junior Achievement and has taught fourth-grade science.

Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach has been recognized for promoting enrollment in state organ donor registries in a national campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration.
Halifax Health conducted awareness and registry campaigns to educate staff, patients, visitors and community members about the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donors, and, by doing so, increased the number of potential donors on Florida’s donor registry.
The hospital was awarded Gold recognition through the HRSA Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign. Of the 995 hospitals and transplant centers participating in the campaign, 147 were awarded Gold recognition during this phase of the campaign.
Halifax Health worked with TransLife on the campaign. TransLife is East Central Florida’s federally-designated organ and tissue donation program agency, covering 10 counties and partnering with more than 40 hospitals.
