Robbery attempt reported on North U.S. 1

The suspect wore a mask and carried a knife.

Another robbery attempt by a person wearing a mask and carrying a knife has been reported in Ormond Beach.

Police responded to the Sunshine Express store, 1520 N. U.S. 1, at approximately 7:07 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, in reference to an attempted armed robbery. The clerk told officers that an unknown male subject entered the store wearing dark clothing and a mask. The masked subject approached the clerk displaying a small black knife and demanded money, the police report said. The clerk screamed alerting the store manager.  The robber then fled the store with no money. Efforts to locate the subject were negative.

On Dec. 22, a employee of Steak and Shake on Williamson Blvd. reported a robbery attempt in the parking lot by a suspect wearing a Batman mask and carrying a knife. There were similar reports at the 7-Eleven, 690 S. Nova Road, on Dec. 13; and at the Kangaroo Express, 1520 W. Granada Blvd., on Dec. 14.
