For five years Rita Narcisse has dreamed of creating a swimwear line that any woman could wear with confidence and ease. After hearing from her friends and her daughter about how hard it is to find a swimsuit that fits correctly, she decided to design a line that would bring back a classic, James Bond look, with a modern twist.

"My girlfriends would joke about hey they would pay $500 for a top that fits correctly," Narcisse laughed. "Imagine Brigitte Bardot in the classic triangle top with a string bikini or cool one pieces that are flattering on everyone. It's classic, but with a little edge."

Though the 18-piece collection is the first from Narcisse's line Stealth Swimwear, this is definitely not her first rodeo. She's had designs in the Deland Women's Museum and been a part of a few shows during Miami Fashion Week. Despite her current glamour and status, this designer got her start making things out of old bed sheets.

"I used to make barbie clothes," she said. "Eventually I moved over to needle and thread, than a sewing machine and soon I started making my cousin pajamas."

Narcisse moved to Ormond Beach when she was in her early twenties, and wanted to have the launch of her national line in her hometown. She had the launch party and the line's first fashion show at Hawaiian Tropic Founder Ron Rice's house Jan. 29.

Eventually, the line will be sold online and in local boutiques, and Narcisse hopes to add coverups to the collection.

"My goal is that the line would be sophisticated enough to go out in after the beach," she said. "Some tops even look good with a sports coat. Every girl likes to feel special without feeling too exposed."
