Palm Coast resident Carolyn Frisbie died and two other women were hurt after a car crash on U.S. 1 in St. Johns County north of St. Augustine Jan. 29.

Frisbie, 73, was at the wheel of a 1997 Toyota Camry at about 6:15 p.m. when the crash happened. Lillian Warner, 82 and also a Palm Coast resident, was in the passenger seat, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

Frisbie was stopped on Venetian Boulevard at its intersection with U.S. 1 when she pulled left across the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 to head south on U.S. 1., according to the FHP report.

But in doing so, according to the report, she violated the right of way of a 2003 Pontiac Vibe driven by 27-year-old Kayla Gordie, a Jacksonville resident. The Pontiac struck the Toyota's left side, sending it into the inside northbound lane of U.S. 1, where it came to rest facing north.  The Pontiac came to rest in the median of U.S. 1, facing south.

The crash killed Frisbie and left Warner with serious injuries. Gordie had minor injuries, according to the report.
