Healthy Eating on a Budget

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Florida Health Care Plans Community Wellness and Education Center, 471 S. Nova Road. Free. Program focuses on learning how to plan meals and snacks ahead of time, enjoying your food while eating less, shopping to get the most value for your money, buying healthy food on a budget, and decreasing sodium, fat and sugar from your diet. Stroke Support Group

Living with Cancer Support Group

Talk with a Doc: Injury Prevention Tips Lecture

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Ormond Beach YMCA, 500 Sterthaus Drive. Learn ways to prevent injuries, what to do if you start to feel an injury and tips for working out safely. Presented by Dr. Matthew Murray. Free. Call 425-5210.

Infant CPR Class

7 p.m. at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Medical Office Building, Classroom B, 305 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach. This demonstration class teaches vital information in preparation for an infant’s life-threatening emergency, such as a choking baby or a near drowning. Cost is $10 per couple. Intro to Alcohol Ink Painting

6 to 8 p.m. at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum. Whether you have no artistic experience, or you are an accomplished artist seeking to "unblock," this workshop is designed as a fun and relaxing way to tap into new areas of creativity. Learn the basics of choosing a color palette and the different materials and effortless techniques used to create a vibrant abstract landscape paintings. Experiment with painting on paper, tile, and glass. Leave with a few small paintings, tile coasters, and a glass votive holder. This is a free-flowing, intuitive medium. No drawing or painting experience is needed. All supplies provided. Open to participants 14 and older. Cost is $55 for members and $61 for nonmembers. Call 676-3347.

Know Your Numbers

Open Gym

6 to 8 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Gymnastics Center, 432 N. Nova Road. For anyone between the ages of 8-21. There will only be light spotting. Coaches will be on the floor at all times. A waiver to participate must be signed by each person and anyone under 18 years of age must have the waiver signed by a parent. Cost is $5 per participant. Image Transfer Workshop

10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Memorial Art Museum. In this workshop participants will be introduced to the materials and various methods used to make successful photo and hand-drawn image transfers. Image transfers have a beautiful, ethereal quality and can be used in a multitude of art applications. Participants will leave with the knowledge to continue experimenting with image transfers in their own artwork and craft projects. No drawing experience required. All supplies provided. The Parkinson Association of Greater Daytona Beach

Executive Director Vince Kinsler will present “Your Mind - Your Disease,” a thought provoking presentation on how our thoughts and beliefs affect the Parkinson’s disease process and ultimately how well one does living and coping with the disease.
