Climbing the walls

4:01 a.m. First block of Ryland Drive. Burglary: A 30-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man went to a Flagler Beach restaurant and then arrived back home in the early morning hours to discover their bedroom "ransacked," according to a Sheriff's Office report. They called the Sheriff's Office, and the woman told a deputy it seemed the thief had entered the home though a bathroom window where a portable air conditioning unit was mounted. A ladder that had been stored behind the house was propped against the window. The burglar made off with $3,900 cash, an Xbox system worth $399, a Sansei TV worth $129, a ruby ring worth $200, a white gold ring worth $99 and some medications. A deputy spoke to neighbors, but they said they hadn't seen or heard anything suspicious that night.
