Salon changes hands, plans remodel
Rosy Serrano-Hemingway has purchased the former Spa Floridian & Salon in City Market Place. Along with the ownership change comes a new name - Opulence by Spa Floridian (Hair and Body) a Paul Mitchell Source Salon.
“We are looking forward to expanding our services and remodeling the salon,” Serrano-Hemingway said. “Our goal is to focus on and provide affordable pampering to our local clientele.”
Adiel Hemingway, her son, was introduced to the salon/spa when his mother, who is a 79-year-old world-renowned esthetician and former model, was working there part time to keep busy and spend time out of the house.
The suite, located downstairs on the northwest corner of City Market Place, is 1,315 sq. ft. and includes four hair stations, two treatment rooms, a stand up shower and two pedicure stations with spa chairs. United Way donates $13,000 to local institutions
United Way Women’s Initiative of Flagler presented Florida Hospital Flagler and the Flagler County Education Foundation with a check for $13,164.74 on Friday, Jan. 8.
The funds were proceeds from United Way Women’s High Tea Fundraiser in October, and will help provide screening mammograms and diagnostic studies to local at the hospital.
“The Education Foundation is honored to share in the proceeds of this wonderful event,” said Deb Williams, Flagler County Education Foundation executive director. “These funds will directly impact the students in Flagler County.”
During the High Tea fundraiser, women learned about breast cancer while wearing exquisite hats and enjoying tea and scones. This year, guest speakers included Florida Hospital Flagler plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Cashio and Florida Oral and Facial Surgical Associates facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Curtis Schalit. Marketing 2 Go hires Dana Nobile
Marketing 2 Go has hired Flagler County native Dana Nobile as a new community manager. Nobile was born and raised in Palm Coast, attending Flagler Schools from kindergarten through high school. She graduated in 2002 from Flagler Palm Coast High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in marketing from Florida State University in 2006.
“As an FPC graduate, Dana is a perfect example of the talent that Flagler Schools continues to produce,” said Cindy Dalecki, president and owner of Marketing 2 Go. “Dana attended primary school here, went to Tallahassee to attend college and is now back to contribute to our local business community.”
