QuotingYogi Berra, who said, “If you come to a fork in the road, take it,” Linda Costello, of Ormond Beach, said Jan. 15 that she has decided to take the fork leading away from the School Board.
“It is with both sadness and excitement that I announce the fork I have chosen results in me NOT running for re-election for Volusia County School Board, District 4,” she wrote in an email.
“I have been at many forks throughout my life,” she said. “These forks are not always easy but necessary.”
Two recent events led to her decision: her husband, Fred, deciding to run for the U.S. Congress, and the couple being awarded custody of their 10-year-old grandson.
“I believe I need to focus on our family and helping Fred,” she said.
She said she was proud that the School Board focused on the success of all students.
