The following is a new release from the Flagler County communications office:

The boil water notice for the users of Flagler County’s Plantation Bay water system has been rescinded, effective immediately.

The notice was issued Monday after vandals drained 400,000 gallons of finished water by tampering with about 20 water lines on private lots in the largely undeveloped Plantation Reserve Estates. This caused the water pressure to drop at the Plantation Bay Water and Wastewater facility.

“The boil water notice is precautionary, and is required any time the water pressure drops below a certain level,” said Heidi Petito, General Services Director.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the vandalism. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the Sheriff’s Office at 386-437-4116.
