Suspicious Person. Police were dispatched to a store because of a suspicious person looking to buy a ski mask and a glass breaker. She said she was buying the ski masks for a trip to New York with her boyfriend and the glass breaker because she and her boyfriend “lock themselves out of their vehicles and sometimes need to break the glass.” The other items were for her boyfriend’s work, she said.

Who’s the county president?

8:23 p.m. — Breakaway Trail and Shadow Creek Way

DUI Alcohol or Drugs. Police received a call about a reckless driver. The suspect was seen traveling west on State Road 40, going 30 mph in a 60 mph zone. The suspect also kept turning around to go in the other direction and was weaving in her own lane.

A police car approached from behind, and the suspect stopped in the middle of an intersection during a green light, waiting to turn into a neighborhood even though no car was coming, except in the far distance.

The suspect then took off into the neighborhood, traveling 33 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer initiated a traffic stop to make a well-being check on the driver.

The suspect turned left and went over the curb into the grass. She then backed up almost hitting the patrol car. The suspect then continued down the road and made a complete stop.

The suspect had difficulty finding her identification and said she was lost, trying to find her way home. She said she was new to the area. She later mentioned she had lived there one and a half years.

The suspect was asked some questions, and said the date was Feb. 16, 2015. She said she was unable to say who the president is, but when asked again, she said, “Oh, I thought you meant the president of the county. Obama.”

After tests, the suspect was charged with DUI.
