As Rick Fraser looked out among the crowd of Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce members, he was reminded of all the successes and impacts the organization has had in 2015. In his role as executive director, Fraser is well aware that those successes wouldn't have happened if it weren't for a few specific people.
"I couldn't do it without you," Fraser said as he addressed his small staff of four.
"We couldn't do it without you either," Event Planner Tia Rush chimed back from somewhere amongst the crowd.
Feelings and sentiments of appreciation were constantly given to the members, leaders and businesses of Ormond Beach at the chamber's 2016 Installation Banquet. Held Jan. 22 at the Oceanside Country Club, the event serves as a way to not only give thanks to the involved partners in the community, but also as way to look ahead.
John Walsh, the president for the 2016 Board of Directors, announced that the chamber has already raised over $10,000 in pledges for the 2016 Investment in Excellence Capital Campaign. With a goal of $50,000, the chamber hopes to invest in new technology, staff and operational development to increase their membership, competitivity and sustainability for the future.
