Florida Hospitals donate to United Way
The five Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties donated $10,000 to the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties on Monday, Jan.25.
“The United Way supports many agencies in our community that provide assistance to those in need,” said Ken Mattison, Florida Hospital Flagler CEO and board member of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties since 2014. “They hold agencies accountable for good stewardship of the funds provided and operate an efficient administration services. We believe in what the United Way is doing and are pleased to be able to support the many community agencies that are focused on helping our friends and neighbors in need.”
“The United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties works tirelessly to make a difference for those living in our community and we are proud to support these incredible efforts,” said Jill Piazza, vice president of care integration for all Florida Hospitals in the state, as well as board member of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties since 2007. “Both Ken and I consider it a privilege to represent Florida Hospital on the board and helping to meet these community needs.” Call 586-2000.
DeCeglie’s Christmas Brigade raised over $2,300 for local families
Richard DeCeglie and the agents he works with at Watson Realty Corp. purchased bags of essential groceries for six local families to celebrate Christmas with a holiday dinner.
In addition, they purchased toys and essentials from the children’s wish lists, and then personally shopped for food and toys, wrapped them delivered everything to families.
“Many of the parents, children and families we adopted were so emotionally overwhelmed by the amount of groceries and gifts we provided this Christmas holiday,” DeCeglie said. “Their cries of gratitude made all of us feel good at what we do for the needy in our community. And, what we got in return was the children’s wide smiling faces and huge hugs from the parents.”

High End Day Spa opens
Jenny Marafurova, a Russian-born, New York trained precision hair stylist, celebrated her new business, High End Day Spa’s, ribbon cutting on Dec. 27, along with Palm Coast Mayor John Netts and a crowd of excited supporters.
The spa and salon, run by Marafurova and her hand-picked team of professionals, will be offering services to Flagler County and surrounding areas.
Clients will be able to select from clinical- and European-customized facials performed by their Paramedical Esthetician with 20 years of experience and more.

Lynn Nguyen opens another salon
For those who were previously with Lynn Nguyen, when she owned Palm Nails, she has opened her new nail salon, LT Nails in the St. Joes Plaza. Nguyen has been serving Palm Coast for the last 14 years, and she’s currently taking walk-ins or appointments.

A real estate family affair
Last year Suzanne Lynch invited her son-in- law, Jesus Castro, to join her in her real estate business at Palm West Home Realty. Lynch brought many years of sales experience and an established career, and Jesus added his own experience in running a business with his Spanish-English bilingualism. Now, another family member joins the team, Lucy Castro, Lynch’s daughter, who is a certified design consultant.
