The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Interstate 95 southbound at 2:10 p.m. Thursday.
The vehicle, a 2013 Ford Explorer, was traveling southbound on the outside lane of I-95 at the 270 mile marker in Ormond Beach, when he traveled off the road and onto the west shoulder of the interstate. The front right side of the vehicle struck several trees, and rotated counterclockwise, coming to its final rest facing east.
The driver, who is 58 and from Winter Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified.
