“Runners arrive wearing white, and leave a canvas of color.” Daniel Pete
Runners surged forward while bombarded with a flurry of color powder and booming music. Palm Coast hosted its first Color Vibe 5K fun run on Saturday, January 30. The first wave of runners started their vibrant trek at 9 a.m. beside the Central Park lake. Town Center transformed into a vibrant course with blue, green, purple and pink blast zones set throughout the 3.1 miles.
“The colors made it really exciting,” said Bailee Hurd, a Matanzas High School senior. “The blaster stations made me want to keep running.”
As the runners crossed the finish line they were greeted with a crowd-surfing, dance party. The jostling throng was thrown bags of color powder, and a purple versus blue color battle swiftly transpired.
“This color run is a wonderful way for families to enrich their relationships with each other, while engaging in a healthy activity,” said Trish Giaccone, executive director of Family Life Center.
Proceeds of the event went to support Flagler County’s Family Life Center.
