Flagler Beach has partnered with Palm Coast Transportation Services to offer a free shuttle system to take people to and from this year's July 4 festivities.
The shuttle will run from a free parking lot at Flagler Square, the the former Food Lion Plaza on the south side of S.R. 100, to Veterans Park, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to a Flagler Beach Police Department news release. Buses will make continuous loops.
There will also be free parking at the Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, at 915 N. Central Ave., after the holiday parade. The lot will open at 12 p.m. Portable toilets will be available.
Parking for people with disabilites will be available at the City Hall lot on the northeast corner of 3rd Street South and South Central Avenue.
The police department has urged visitors who will be heading north after the fireworks show to park north of State Road 100 — at the church, for instance — and visitors who will be heading south to park south of S.R. 100.
Traffic at the State Road 100 and Oceanshore Boulevard intersection will be restricted after the 9:15 p.m. fireworks show, and the traffic signal will be controlled manually. All southbound Oceanshore Boulevard traffic will be routed west onto S.R. 100 and sent over the bridge.
