9:56 p.m. — 800 Block of South Atlantic Avenue
Theft. After walking on the beach, the victim said she accidentally left her purse in the park bathroom, but now it was missing. It contained two credit cards, $200 in cash, her car key and driver’s license.
She then became certain if she left the purse in the bathroom or dropped it on the beach. She looked at Snapchat photos that she and her friend took on the beach, and they showed she did not have her purse, so she concluded it had been left in the bathroom.
It was a rental car, and the company arranged for the car to be towed back to the business.
5:38 p.m. — 200 Block of Williamson Boulevard
Theft. The officer responded to the business after the report of an attempted stolen bicycle. The suspect said he found the bike beside the business.
He was riding it around the parking lot when confronted by the victim. He gave it to the victim, and told him he should be careful about where he leaves his bike.
The victim did not pursue charges but the business manager had the suspect trespassed from the property.

2:38 p.m. — 200 Block of South Atlantic Avenue
False Name Given and Driving with a Suspended License. The officer conducted a traffic stop because the car’s tag was not visible.
The suspect struggled to find her driver’s license and registration. As proof of insurance, she provided a bill from an insurance company, which had a different name than she had given.
She became defensive and verbally aggressive. When confronted about the false name, she said she can be whoever she wants to be.
She eventually found her out-of-state driver’s license in the truck, and it was found to be suspended.
She received several citations.
June 29
4:18 p.m. — 1400 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Possession of ID of Deceased. The store employee said she suspected the suspect was shoplifting because of her training and experience in retail work. The suspect was walking through the store, picking up expensive clothing items and placing them in a cart without checking sizes and prices.
He went through the checkout line, but when he could not provide an ID, the store employee would not accept the credit card he presented.
When questioned, the suspect said his grandmother gave him the card. Through computer research, the police located the son of the owner of the card. The son said the card owner was deceased, and the card had been stolen.
