City of Flagler Beach’s Ocean Rescue Services receives supplies from FHF Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners.
FHF sports medicine physician Dr. Sonia Millan visited Wadsworth Elementary School to speak to 210 students about the importance of exercise and healthy snacking.

On June 21, Florida Hospital Flagler’s branch of Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners donated medical supplies to the City of Flagler Beach’s Ocean Rescue Services.
“Our lifeguards are the first responders to beachgoers who fall victim to sudden illnesses and injuries,” said Tom Gillin, recreational director for the City of Flagler Beach, via press release. “The hospital donates these supplies each year and we are so grateful for the support. This donation allows us to continue providing the highest quality of safety services to all visitors to our beautiful beach.”
The donated items included gloves, face masks, ammonia, alcohol pads, gauze, biohazard containment materials, and more.
“These items are essential to what we do,” he said. “When someone is injured on the beach, our lifeguards can use the donated supplies to help right away. It makes a real difference.”
Dr. Sonia Millian visited Wadsworth Elementary School, on June 22, to speak to 210 students involved in the 21st Century Community Learning Center about the importance of exercise and healthy snacking.
The 21st Century Community Learning Center is a free academic enrichment program for qualifying students at Bunnell, Rymfire and Wadsworth elementary schools.
During this event, Millan emphasized the health benefits of exercising 60 minutes each day and choosing healthy, non-processed snacks. She gave the students examples of healthy choices and did an interactive exercise activity with them.
“Healthy does not equal gross,” Millan told the students. “There are so many delicious and healthy snacks to choose from, and they come from the earth, not a factory – that’s why fruit is called nature’s candy.”
Marketing 2 Go’s, Social Community Manager Ally Perkins received her master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Florida.
Perkins attended the University of Florida. While living in Gainesville, Perkins worked for Marketing 2 Go remotely, but has recently moved back to Palm Coast.
Her duties as community manager include managing her own clients, drafting press releases, helping with eNewsletters, creating and editing client videos, and account manager for many of the firm’s Pinterest accounts.
