Last week, Florida Virtual School (FLVS) named iFlagler the “Small District Franchise of the year."

For a growing number of students in Flagler Schools, the traditional classroom setting may not meet all of their needs. Fortunately for them, there’s iFlagler which is the school district’s virtual school.

iFlagler offers middle and high school courses. As a franchise iFlagler uses the same rigorous curriculum as FLVS, but classes are taught by local teachers. This gives students the option of face-to-face interaction with teachers and staff.

iFlagler was established six years ago, and since then has grown in popularity. Just a few years ago there were 300 half credit enrollments. That number grew to 4,000 half-credit enrollments, in the 2015-16 school year.

“We have tremendous support from Superintendent Jacob Oliva, our School Board, and Florida Virtual Schools.” Diane Dyer, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning for Flagler Schools, said.
