Thank you to Flagler Beach locals Mayor Linda Provencher, Carla Cline, Jeff and Sheryl Hall, Donny Palmer, Judy McNitt, Mickey Garrett, and Julie Mickle Blandford who took time out of their own days to clean up Flagler Beach, on July 5.
“After the Fourth of July it’s a no brainer that the beach would have to be cleaned up,” said Cline.
Cline couldn't’ help but think what would have happened to all that garbage if they didn't’ pick it up. Her top worry was it washing into the ocean.
Cline hopes that in future Fourth of Julys that dumpsters can be brought in.
In a two-block stretch over 20 bags of garbage, abandoned coolers and chairs and more were all collected. To make the City of Flagler Beach garbagemen have an easier day the group even brought all the garbage to the street front.
Cline wants Flagler Beach to be known as a clean beach town. She doesn’t like having to clean up after others but this has been her home for over 30 years. She loves her town and loves seeing it to change for the better.
