Biz Buzz: Florida Hospital Flagler breaks ground on cancer center expansion

The expansion is a $4.5 million construction project and should be completed by the end of the year.

Florida Hospital Flagler broke ground on July 11 on a $4.5 million construction project to expand its Cancer Center by 2,000 square feet and add a second linear accelerator for radiation oncology treatments.

Kristie Reiner, Florida Hospital Flagler director of oncology operations, said, “When complete, we will have two vaults for radiation treatments, expanding our ability to treat cancer patients in a quick, extremely safe and efficient manner.”

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

MediQuick donates to lifeguard program

2016 marks MediQuick’s eighth year supporting the Flagler Beach Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Program. MediQuick provides free physicals to all the participants.

Tom Gillen, the program head, states: “The donations of our annual physicals have become an important part of our beach safety services. We are also appreciative of the care and services MediQuick provides to our lifeguards who are injured during the course of the summer."
