Ormond Beach police have issued a warning about two male suspects who present themselves as water department employees to homeowners and then rob them.
On July 12, two 6-foot-tall white males told a homeowner they were working with the water department and wanted to check the water quality, according to police spokesman Keith Walker. While one suspect kept the homeowner busy with the test, the other said he needed to go check the water pressure in the rest of the home.
After they left, the homeowner noticed valuables missing.
The police ask that homeowners check the credentials of people before letting them into their home. If there is doubt about the identity of a suspect, call police at 248-1777 or call 911.
