A Candidate Forum for the coming election has been set for Monday, Aug. 1, in Ormond Beach City Commission Chambers at City Hall, located at the corner of West Granada Boulevard and South Beach Street.
Citizens for Ormond Beach Inc., the sponsor, invites all candidates running for office to participate in the Meet and Greet from 6 to 6:50 p.m. At 7 p.m., the forum will begin with James Rose, a local attorney, as the moderator.
The candidates for the offices of county chair, County Council District 4 and School Board District 4 will answer questions from the moderator. Also, two minutes to speak has been allotted to all candidates seeking the position of Volusia County supervisor of elections and property appraiser.
CFOB is soliciting questions from residents. To submit an anonymous question, go to cfobonline.com and click "Candidate Questions" at the top of the home page.
The primary election will be Aug. 30 and will include numerous local offices including the school board, judges, county chair, County Council district 4, sheriff, property appraiser, supervisor of elections, and municipal officials, as well as federal and state offices. Voters also will cast their ballots on Constitutional Amendment 4, which would exempt solar devices and renewable energy source devices from certain taxation and assessment.
Early voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 20 through 27. The Ormond Beach location will be Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
