Idea Dinners, a Volusia County event planning company with a social mission, will be hosting the inaugural Boss Lady Retreat on Aug. 13 and 14 at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach.

This retreat will include presentations by five successful female entrepreneurs in Volusia County, four of them being from Ormond Beach.  Idea Dinners want to help eliminate the hurdles and obstacles that so many amazing entrepreneurs in our area face and accelerate their businesses and personal growth.

The speakers and topics include:

  • Corrine Heck, Details Flowers: How to Pitch to Investors
  • Luisa Alvarez, One Studios: Crafting Your Visual Presence
  • Kristen Colesanti, Cover & Content: Graphic Design for Busy Bosses
  • Thays Franca, Masterpiece Mixers Ormond Beach: Turning Creativity into Profits
  • Brittny Lowe, Bloom Branding: Creating Brands that Attract

The Boss Lady Retreat will give female entrepreneurs in Central Florida the opportunity to recharge, connect and form relationships over meals, during a cocktail hour and other events throughout a one-night stay at ACA’s artist studios. The capstone of the event is a four-course dinner provided by Chef Sue Flynn of New Smyrna Beach. During the dinner attendees and presenters will be paired together to share ideas and have a meaningful discussion about what it means to be a woman in a boss role.

“Earlier this year Idea Dinners hosted a ‘Boss Lady’ dinner to provide support for women in the workplace and female entrepreneurs in our community and while hosting this dinner we discovered there are dozens of talented, strong women in our community who are starting their own business or nurturing creative endeavors and want to support and learn from each other,” said Idea Dinners Founder Lacey McLaughlin. “Currently there is no designated program or business incubator in Volusia County that serves only women.”

Three packages are being offered from the retreat and include a day option with access to all workshops with breakfast and lunch; a day and night option with three meals, and an overnight option. Guests who stay overnight will stay in a private room on site at the Atlantic Center for the Arts that is traditionally used for the center’s artist-in-residency programs. Packages range from $150 - $325. By using the special promo code HUSTLE, attendees can receive $25 off.

A limited number of tickets are available at ideadinners.com as well as additional information about the retreat. Event sponsors include Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center's New Smyrna Health Park and Jack White Land Co.
