Bucs win 7v7 tournament
The Mainland Bucs kicked off their summer position tournaments with a 12-0 shutout over Lake Gibson to win the UCF 7-on-7 Tournament Saturday, June 4, at Bright House Networks Stadium.
The Bucs played and won all 10 of their 20-minute games
Pride wins scholarships
Ormond Beach PRIDE's Justin Minaberry and Ava Colubiale finished were selected as two of only 15 recipients to receive the American Youth Football and Cheers Scholarships. The AYF/AYC is currently the largest youth program in the nation.
A habit worth kicking
Mainland’s kicking coach Dan Lundy will be holding two kicking camps this summer, the first a three-week private training camp from Friday June 10-30, and the other an open camp that will include specialists from the college and pro levels. It will start Wednesday, July 6.
The three camps will go as follows: Private training in June; Extra point event on June 25, at Bishop Moore with guest Coach Lavar Arrington; Summer Training Camp in July at Municipal Stadium with the 12 active NFL players, including Cairo Santos, Caleb Sturgis, Chris Boswell, Johnny Hekker and many others.

HRA continues to flow upstream
For the first time in the history of the junior program, Halifax Rowing Association had six rowers compete in the US Rowing Southeast Youth Championships last month at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
Each team posted a Top-10 finish. Ashley Dodd and Paige Jagger finished sixth in the women's pair; Sam Bayer and Bret Bay placed ninth in the men's pair; Ben Herstein and Peter Springer placed 10th in the men's double event. They competed against 42 teams, representing North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
Lady Green wave hires volleyball coach
Father Lopez Catholic recently hired on Jennifer Belarmino as the new head bolleyball Coach.
Belarmino comes from Lake-Sumter State College where she spent the last two seasons as the head coach. She’s also served as head coach at West Virginia Tech, where she holds the all-time recorded holder for wins at the university.
Belarmino has made other stops at the assistant level and with prep clubs, but she seek to bring her winning ways to the Lady Green Wave volleyball program.
