A woman charged with second-degree murder in the Sept. 23, 2015 shooting of her 77-year-old husband at the couple's home in the Hammock will likely stand trial in July.

The woman, Anna Pehota, appeared before Circuit Judge Matthew Foxman for a June 7 pretrial hearing, pleading with the judge to move the case forward.

"I've been here 240-some days or something like that; it’s too much," she said.

Pehota's attorney, Raymond Warren, wants her to be evaluated by a specialist who can assess the possibility of psychological issues.

Pehota is now 76. Foxman scheduled the case for a July 14 docket sounding, with plans to move the case to trial during the month of July.

Also at the June 7 pretrial hearing before Foxman was John Schenone, a Palm Coast 32-year-old charged June 29, 2015 with molesting his girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter.

Schenone is charged with rape of a child under the age of 12 by a person over the age of 18, and with lewd and lascivious molestation.

Schenone, represented by attorney Regina Nunnally, is also slated for trial in July.
