If you watched "NCIS New Orleans," Mar. 1, you might have caught a glimpse of some local artwork.
Artist Harriet Blum was recently asked by the staff of the popular TV show for permission to use several of her photographs. Locally, her art is on display in Dunn’s Attic, The Hub and SeaCasas. She recently moved to Ormond Beach after a successful art career in the New Orleans area.
Blum recognizable technique is hand tinting black and white infra-red photographs using transparent oils, and her main subjects are trees and landscapes. Her style is often described as romantic peacefulness, dreamy and ethereal.
Her art was displayed in all of the sleeping rooms and meeting rooms of the Loews New Orleans Hotel, and her works are in the collection of the Roger Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Mobile Museum of Art.
