The Daytona Playhouse reopens March 18 with Marshall Karp's "Squabbles." Directed by Ormond resident Kathy Thompson, growing pains hit Jerry and Alice Sloan's household with a vengeance. A new baby on the way puts the squeeze on Abe, Alice's feisty father, who's being downsized to a tiny guest room. Jerry's domineering mother, Mildred, arrives homeless after a bizarre kitchen accident. Not even affable neighbor Sol Wasserman's excellent coffee can soothe the rancor. Hector Lopez, the family handyman, frequents their only bathroom, and stern Mrs. Fisher, the governess, adds to the mayhem.
All options to raise their child in a peaceful home are spiraling down the drain.
Show opens at 7:30 p.m. March 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26, and at 2 p.m. March 20 and 27. Tickets cost $18 for adults and $16 for seniors 55 and older. The playhouse is located at 100 Jessamine Blvd., Daytona Beach. Visit DaytonaPlayhouse.org or call 255-2431.
