Palm Coast businessman Paul Aiello was killed the morning of March 10 when his motorcycle struck a tree near the Hammock Beach Resort.

Aiello, 52 and the owner of the heating and air conditioning company RHS Mechanical, was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson FLHXS west on Ocean Crest Drive at about 10:30 a.m. when the motorcycle hit the curb on the south side of the road.

The cycle then drove over the curb and off the roadway, and hit a tree, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Rescuers took Aiello to Florida Hospital Flagler, where he was pronounced dead. He had not been wearing a helmet, according to the FHP report.

Aiello, a member of the Flagler Homebuilders Association, was recognized by the Association for above-and-beyond contributions in 2013, and was also a member of the Flagler County Chamber.
