Police seek women in purse theft

The victim had left her purse at a restaurant.

Ormond Beach police are seeking two women who they suspect took a purse that did not belong to them from Moe’s Southwest Grill, 337 W. Granada Blvd., at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 29.

The victim had left her purse at the restaurant after having lunch. When she discovered it was missing, she called the restaurant. It could not be located, and the manager reviewed the security footage which showed two female suspects taking the purse, police said.

The first suspect left her booth, walked over to the victim’s purse, retrieved it and went back to her booth. After going through the purse at the booth, both suspects left the business.

The first suspect took the purse with her. She is described as a white female with dark hair, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 220 pounds and wearing a DeLand Bulldogs shirt.

The second suspect was described as a white female, 35 to 45 years old, dark hair, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 240 pounds and wearing a multicolored shirt.
