Law enforcement officers searched the home of Bunnell resident Michael Giachetti March 16 and found 12 files of child pornography on his computer desktop, according to a charging affidavit.
Giachetti, 47 and a resident of the Palm Terrace Community mobile home park at 2250 State Road 100, had been the subject of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation since Sept. 15, 2015.
Circuit Judge Matthew Foxman signed a search warrant for Giachetti's home March 16, and officers searched Giachetti's home at 6:30 a.m. the next morning.
Giachetti told investigators that he'd been downloading child pornography since 2008, "and believes he has become addicted to it," according to the affidavit.
He had been using keywords and a file-sharing program to search for and download the pornography, according to the affidavit.
Investigators did an "on-site preview of Giachetti's desktop," and found files showing men engaged in sexual acts with prepubescent girls. The files included eight videos ranging in length from less than 30 seconds to more than 20 minutes, and four image files.
Giachetti was arrested and taken to the Flagler County jail, and bond was set at $5,000 for each of the 12 counts, for a total of $60,000. Giachetti remained in jail as of the afternoon of March 18.
He has been scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. March 4 felony arraignment.
