Resisting Arrest and Giving a False Name. The suspect was pulled over for a traffic violation and gave a name that did not bring up a file in the computer. He said he had never had a Florida driver’s license or ID.
The officer scanned his fingerprints and the computer provided a different name.
The suspect, seated on the ground, was asked to put his hands behind his back. He then sprang to his feet and ran toward the beach. The officer was closing the gap in the pursuit when the suspect jumped over the seawall and landed face first in the sand. He got up and ran down the beach.
A witness said he saw the suspect go up the stairs at a condo, and the officer and a Beach Patrol officer began to search the property.
The suspect was found hiding under the deck at a fish pond and was taken into custody. He was found to be on probation for a felony and had prior arrests for driving without a license and multiple suspensions.

Stolen and found
5:22 p.m. — 1300 Block of Wandering Oaks Drive
Car Break. The victim said a man in his mid-30s knocked on her door. When she answered, he handed her a purse that was not hers. She said he looked dazed or hung over.
She told him it was not her purse and he said it was. She looked inside the purse and found her wallet.
She asked him where he found the purse and he said, “Over there,” indicating a main road into the area. He said he found it in the middle of the road the night before.
She took the purse and the suspect then drove away.
Her checkbooks and multiple cards were still in her wallet. Also inside the purse was a driver’s license that belonged to a different victim.
The victim checked her car and found that it had been broken into. The contents of the console were on the floor. She said she had not locked the doors.
