Deputies are the seeking the public's help to find three cars stolen from the R-Section of Palm Coast overnight, and to identify the thieves who stole those cars — as well as one which has since been found — and burglarized eight more.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has posted surveillance video of the car thefts to its Facebook page (see embedded video below, or go the Facebook page here.)
The car thefts and burglaries happened sometimes between late the night of Saturday, April 30 and about 5:50 a.m. Sunday, May 1, on Ruskin Lane, Rymen Lane, Pitt Lane, Russo Drive, Riddle Drive and Round Thorn Lane, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
The thief or thieves stole guns, credit cards and other items from the cars, and stole four of the cars. Most were unlocked.
One of the thieves drove a stolen truck down the street from its owner's driveway, then abandoned it after hitting something.
The other three cars — a 2013 black Tahoe with Florida tag YF3ZQ, a 2013 green Ford Taurus with Florida tag HQA1P and a 2007 black Mazda CX9 with Florida tag 075-XCK — are still missing.
The Tahoe has an IAFF Local 4337 license plate on the front, a firetruck mural on rear window, and the words “smoke showing” written in red lettering on the sun visor. There was a gun in the car when it was stolen, and credit cards that were left inside the car have been used at a Walmart and a Target in Daytona Beach.
The Sheriff's Office has asked residents to remember to:
