Florida Hospital gives free sport physicals
Florida Hospital Flagler performed nearly 400 free sports physicals for student athletes from both FPC and Matanzas High School.
Florida Hospital Flagler pulled together a team of 15 physicians, 35 staff volunteers and 12 Daytona State College nursing students to volunteer their time and talents to provide these physicals. This huge undertaking by the hospital enables the students to participate in sporting events for the coming school year.
Considering that the average cost for a student physical at a Walk-In Clinic is approximately $30 each, Florida Hospital Flagler provided approximately $12,000 worth of free services to local teenagers with this annual community event.
Florida Hospital recognized for excellence in employee engagement
For the sixth consecutive year, Adventist Health System, which includes the six Florida Hospitals in the Volusia and Flagler counties, has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award. This award recognizes organizations for their extraordinary ability to promote engaged workplace cultures that drive positive results.
Each year, a panel of Gallup workplace experts evaluates applicants and assesses them against select criteria in a comprehensive workplace study. Gallup’s rigorous scientific research links employee engagement to nine performance outcomes such as customer ratings, productivity and quality.
Winners of this year’s award comprise a prestigious group of organizations that average a ratio of engaged employees more than seven times what Gallup found in nationally representative U.S. polling and more than 21 times what Gallup found in workforces globally.
According to Gallup, all of this year’s award recipients have shown measurable impact as a result of having a more engaged workforce.
Gallup will honor winners of this year’s award during its Spring Summit on May 10-12, in Omaha, Nebraska.
