Two turtle patrol volunteers found a woman with no pulse lying in the surf the morning of Sunday, May 8. The woman, identified as 50-year-old Palm Coast resident Patricia Darvish, was pronounced dead by paramedics at 7:22 a.m.
No foul play is suspected, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said.
The turtle patrol volunteers were on their morning patrol north of North 23rd Street near the Flagler Beach/Beverly Beach line when they saw Darvish in the surf and pulled her out of the water with the help of two bystanders, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office report.
Another bystander called 911 at about 7:12 a.m., according to the report, and a Flagler Beach Police officer tried to perform CPR.
A Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputy noted in a report that Darvish had no obvious signs of trauma on her body, and had been found fully clothed.
Her car was parked on Oceanshore Boulevard south of where she was found. Saxon's towing removed the car.
Darvish's body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
